1	Close engine hood
2	Switch on ignition	Model 204.9
3	Switch on windshield wiper	Model 204.9
4	Switch off ignition	Model 204.9: Switch off ignition as soon as wiper arms reach top reversal point.
5	Remove key from ignition lock	Do not switch on the ignition as long as the wiper arms (1) are folded away from the windshield or the rear window, otherwise the wiper arms, engine hood and windshield or rear window may be damaged.
6	Fold out wiper arms (1) from windshield or rear window and check wiper blades (2)	Version A and B: Secure wiper arms (1) to prevent them from being folded back on the windshield or rear window in an uncontrolled manner, otherwise the windshield or rear window may be damaged. Fold wiper arms (1) back onto windshield or rear window carefully with wiper blades (2) attached only, as otherwise the windshield or rear window could be damaged. Version A: Check rubber lip (2a) of wiper blade (2) for hardness, cracks and wear. Check wiper blade (2) and mounting for damage. Check correct seat of rubber lip (2a) in the guides, in the event of complaint only replace rubber lip (2a) or complete wiper blade (2) subject to separate repair order. Version B: Check rubber lip (2a) of wiper blades (2) for hardness, cracks and wear. Check correct seat of rubber lip (2a) in the guides. Check end caps of wiper blades (2) for condition. Check spring rails of wiper blades (2) for material fatigue or fracture, in the event of a complaint, replace wiper blades (2) subject to separate repair order.
7	Fold back wiper arms (1) on windshield or rear window	Fold wiper arms (1) back onto windshield or rear window carefully with wiper blades (2) attached only, as otherwise the windshield or rear window could be damaged.
8	Switch off windshield wiper	Model 204.9
