Check caster, match with tabular value - AR40.20-P-0322-03CW

Check and adjustment values for caster 

Number  Designation    Model 204.0/2 except AMG, 4MATIC 
BE40.20-P-1001-20E Permissible difference in caster between right and left sides of the vehicle ∠° 30'

Note different version of cross struts. 

IMPORTANT The same version (A or B) must be installed on both sides of the vehicle.

IMPORTANT Depending on the cross strut version the table column

"A" for the old cross strut version (A) or

"B" for the new cross strut version (B) are used.

IMPORTANT Tolerance for caster ±30'

IMPORTANT The level values are displayed by the electronic inclinometer in decimal degrees [°].

RA Rear axle level value

FA Front axle level value

  1. Obtain the caster value from the table taking into account the front axle (FA) level values and rear axle (RA) level values measured previously.

Example for A (old cross strut version), see table: 

Front-axle level value (FA): +5.8° (column A)

Rear-axle level value (RA): +2° = Caster angle value 10° 21' (±30')

Example for B (new cross strut version), see table: 

Front-axle level value (FA): +7.3° (column B)

Rear-axle level value (RA): +2° = Caster angle value 10° 21' (±30')
