Wheel covers/brake dust covers 

Wheel covers and brake dust covers available as aftermarket accessories are designed to prevent brake lining dust from soiling light alloy rims. These parts must not be installed for the following reasons:

1. Inadequate ventilation may cause the brake discs to overheat under severe load. Vapor bubbles may form in the brake fluid and the rubber seals may be destroyed, resulting in failure of the brake system.
2. A safe wheel attachment as a result of settling effects with the cover plates or brake dust disks is not guaranteed.
3. The reworking of the brake calipers as recommended in the assembly instructions is not permissible.

Aftermarket installation of track-widening spacer rings 

Spacer rings are not approved by Mercedes-Benz and must not be installed for the following reasons:

1. Centering of the disk wheel to the wheel hub is no longer possible.
2. The steering geometry is changed (kingpin offset).
3. Negative influence on steering ability and steering wheel reset.
4. Increased wear on wheel bearings and axle joints due to increased lever forces.
5. The wheel bolts cannot be screwed in deep enough.
6. Insufficient wheel coverage guaranteed in the production state.
7. Snow chains may not be usable.
