Remove/install rear seat belts (MODEL 204.0) - AR91.40-P-0681CW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100°C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by release of spring in the automatic belt retractor is released. Never disassemble automatic belt retractors. AS91.00-Z-0002-01A

IMPORTANT Assessment of airbag and belt tensioner units in accident vehicles   AH91.00-P-0006-01B
IMPORTANT Legal requirements on handling and storing airbags and emergency tensioning retractor units   AH91.00-P-0004-01A
1 Disconnect ground cable   AR54.10-P-0003CW
2 Remove left or right C-pillar paneling (1)   AR68.30-P-4490CW
3 Disconnect left rear emergency tensioning retractor squib electrical connector (X28/47) of left rear emergency tensioning retractor squib (R12/6) or right rear emergency tensioning retractor squib electrical connector (X28/48) of right rear emergency tensioning retractor squib (R12/7) from automatic belt retractor (5)    
4 Remove bolt (4) from automatic belt retractor (5) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1013-01P 
5 Remove automatic belt retractor (5) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe different versions for left and right automatic belt retractors (5), do not install seat belt (2) when twisted. Correctly insert catch on automatic belt retractor (5) into C-pillar.
If the automatic belt retractor (5) is replaced, the defective automatic belt retractor (5) must be disposed of properly.

6 Install in the reverse order    
7 Check supplemental restraint system (SRS) with STAR DIAGNOSIS After replacing the automatic belt retractor (5).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory AD00.00-P-2000-04A
