General information
The anti-theft alarm system (ATA) monitors all inputs relevant for it after locking the vehicle with the central locking (CL) function. If a change of status is detected at one of the monitored inputs, an acoustic and visual alarm is given.
The acoustic alarm signals are output by the alarm siren (H3/1). The visual alarm signals are output by the exterior lights. In addition, the interior lights are switched on.
The rear SAM control unit with rear fuse and relay module (N10/2) has the master function for the ATA.
The ATA, when armed, monitors:
- Doors
- Trunk lid
- Engine hood
- Alarm siren
- Vehicle changes position (anti-towing protection) (not

The ATA allows the following partial functions:
- Activation of anti-theft alarm system
- Anti-theft alarm system alarm actuation
