Liftgate control unit, component description - GF80.20-P-6082CE
MODEL 204.2 with CODE (890) EASY-PACK liftgate as of model year 2009/YoM 08
MODEL 204.9 with CODE (890) EASY-PACK tailgate
Shown on model 204.2
Location
The liftgate control unit is fastened in the area of the left upper D-pillar on the headliner.
Task
The liftgate control unit has the following purposes:
- Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuating components
Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via a direct line:
- Liftgate control Hall sensor (M51/3b1)
- Liftgate control position sensor (M51/3b2)
- Additionally for model 204.9:
- Left liftgate control unit obstruction sensor strip (B86/1)
- Right liftgate control obstruction sensor strip (B86/2)
Interior CAN
The following signals are read in over the interior CAN:
By the left front door control unit (N69/1):
- Status of driver trunk lid/liftgate control button (S15/3)
By the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2):
- Status of liftgate rotary tumbler switch (M14/7s1)
- Status of liftgate control button (S62/36)
- Status of liftgate external operation switch (S88/8)
- Access authorization code for transmitter key (A8/1) via rear window antenna amplifier 1 (A2/71)
From the instrument cluster (A1):
- Vehicle speed signal
By the electronic ignition switch control unit (N73):
- Terminal status circuit 15
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN
Direct line
The following components are actuated with a direct line:
- Liftgate control warning buzzer (H4/60)
- Liftgate control electric motor (M51/3m1)
- Liftgate control magnetic clutch (M51/3y1)
Interior CAN
The following component is actuated via the interior CAN:
By the rear SAM control unit:
- Liftgate locking element (M14/31)
