Location
The electric steering lock control unit is located on the steering column.
Task
The electric steering lock control unit processes information from the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) and is connected to it by a bi-directional, serial data line.
After the unlocking operation, the power to the locking components is switched off to avoid unintentional locking
Scope of tasks
- Calculation of Hash value
- If the Hash value is incorrect and the unlocking position is not reached or not recognized, an error message is transmitted to the electronic ignition lock control unit.
- Position monitoring of locking bolt via 2 Hall sensors
- Switching on integrated motor via alternating relay for locking and unlocking locking bolt
- Arresting steering column with locking bolt
