Remove/install flywheel / drive plate engine 272 - AR03.30-P-8001V

ENGINE 272, 271 in MODEL 171

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the and position the four support plates below the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. -
1 Raise vehicle with lifting platform   AR00.60-P-1000V
2 Remove automatic transmission together with torque converter Vehicles with automatic transmission  
    - -
    Engine 272 AR27.10-P-0500V
3 Remove clutch Vehicles with manual transmission AR25.10-P-0050V
4 Remove starter (M1) - -
    Engine 272 AR15.30-P-7100VA
5 SPECIAL TOOL Install retaining lock (01) for crankshaft /starter ring gear - -
    Engine 272 AR03.30-P-5000VA 
6.1 Mark the front side of the washer (2) Vehicles with automatic transmission
NOTESInstallation:  The washer (2) must be installed back into the same position as bulging caused by the bolts can generate an incorrect torque.
 
7 Unscrew bolts (1a) on two-mass flywheel (1) or clutch plate NOTESInstallation:  If an angle tightener is not available, the bolts can be tightened further by the specified angle in a single operation using a socket wrench and breaker bar.
To avoid any angle errors, a bending rod torque wrench must not be used for tightening according to angle degrees. This falsifies the tightening torque.
Engine 271:
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt for flywheel or two-mass flywheel / driven plate to crankshaft
Engine 272:
*BA03.30-P-1003-01I 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt of starter ring gear/ drive plate to crankshaft *BA03.30-P-1002-01M 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, two-mass flywheel to crankshaft *BA03.30-P-1003-01M 
8.1 Remove washer (2) Vehicles with automatic transmission  
9.1 Remove two-mass flywheel (1) Vehicles with manual transmission
IMPORTANTInstallation:  The straight pin (1b) determines the installation position of the two-mass flywheel (1).
 
9.2 Remove drive plate Vehicles with automatic transmission
IMPORTANTInstallation:  The straight pin (1b) determines the installation position of the drive plate.
 
INSPECT Checking     
10.1 Check threaded unions in drive plate Automatic transmission 722.906
IMPORTANT Check for damage and interference sit and replace drive plate where necessary.
 
11 Install in the reverse order    
12.1 Carry out the first initialization and then sensor rotor adaptation with STAR DIAGNOSIS IMPORTANTOnly when replacing.

REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
