Component description for the EZS control unit - GF80.57-P-6003RC
MODEL 171.4 as of model year 09 /YoM 08 model refinement package
N73 EIS [EZS] control unit
Location : The EIS control unit is located on the right, next to the steering column.
Tasks The EIS control unit has the following tasks: Control of functions, Reading in of signals, Evaluation of input factors, Actuation of components, Power supply for transmitter key (A8/1)
Control of functions The EIS control unit is the master control unit for the following functions: - Central locking - Convenience feature - Drive authorization stage 3 (DAS 3) - Shift lock function (with transmission 722) - Encrypted data exchange according to hash method for key identification - Rotation angle-dependent activation of individual terminals (c. 15, c. 15R, c. 50, c. 15X and c. 15C) - Rotation lock for transmitter key by locking lift solenoid
Reading in of signals The input factors are read in with the following connections: Direct line, Interior CAN, Engine compartment CAN.
Direct line The following signals are read in via a direct line: - Circuit 30 - C. 30b (backup battery supply)
Interior CAN The EIS control unit reads in information relevant for function via the interior CAN.
Engine compartment CAN The EIS control unit reads in information relevant for function via the engine compartment CAN.
Evaluation of input factors The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
Actuation of components Components are actuated with the following lines: Direct line, Interior CAN, Engine compartment CAN .
Direct line The following components are actuated via a direct line: c. 30 to electric steering lock control unit (N26/5) (locking voltage) - Serial data line to electric steering lock control unit
Interior CAN The EIS control unit transmits the request for function-relevant actuations via interior CAN.
Engine compartment CAN The EIS control unit transmits the request for function-relevant actuations via engine compartment CAN.
Power supply for transmitter key When the transmitter key is inserted into the EIS control unit, it switches on the inductive power transmission for power supply to the transmitter key.
