Carry out conditions and tests for chassis alignment - AR40.20-P-0260SX

MODEL 169, 171, 203, 204, 209, 211, 215, 216, 219, 220, 230, 245 

MODEL 221 except CODE (Z07) Top protection 

INSPECT Checking     
1 Check condition of vehicle IMPORTANT All the vehicle parts must be installed for the chassis alignment and the vehicle should be completed so that it is operational The vehicle specified values are provided through the measuring system by means of actual values determined.
The values are transferred to the measuring system after the vehicle level measurement. As a result the corresponding vehicle level is taken into account during the chassis alignment and the vehicle must no longer be loaded or refueled.
 
2 Print out form for wheel alignment check If necessary, when an optical chassis alignment is performed.  
REFER TO FORMS Wheel Alignment Form    
3 Check tire condition for wear pattern, tread depth and damage IMPORTANT Visual inspection.  
4 Check rim condition for damage IMPORTANT Visual inspection.  
5 Check tire inflation pressure and correct if necessary IMPORTANT See tire inflation pressure chart inside the fuel filler flap.  
6 Check vehicle underside for damage, corrosion of chassis parts and supporting body parts, leaks from major assemblies and lines IMPORTANT Visual inspection.  
7.1 Raise front axle and check wheel bearing play without dial indicator Except MODEL 197  
7.2 Raise vehicle at side at jack support point and check wheel bearing play without dial indicator MODEL 197
NOTES Do not  raise vehicle at front or rear axle. Otherwise the axles may be damaged.
8 Checking condition of steering mechanism IMPORTANT Check tie rods, tie rod ball joints, and steering coupling.  
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Check track rod and drag link linkage for play, check rubber boots Models 169, 245 AP46.00-P-4653AK

9 Check front axle ball joints for play, check dust boots for damage   AP33.20-P-3353BA
10 Check rear axle joints for play, check rubber boots
11 Check condition of shock absorbers and springs
12 Drive the vehicle onto the measuring station and secure using the parking brake IMPORTANT Vehicle lift must be horizontal in the measuring position.
13 Unlock turnplates and sliding platforms
14.1 Raise vehicle level and then lower again Vehicle with Active Body Control (ABC) or air suspension.
14.2 Rock vehicle to settle suspension on front and rear axles several times Vehicle with steel suspension.
