| 1 | Adjust driver seat and steering column all the way back | ||
| 2 | Switch off the ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS control unit | ||

| 5 | Remove driver airbag unit (1) from steering wheel (2) until electrical connectors (4) are accessible | ||
| 6 | Separate electrical connectors (4) | ||
| 7 | Disconnect electrical plug (5). | ||
| 8 | Disconnect electrical connector (6) | ||
| 9 | Unclip lock tabs (3) and disconnect electrical connectors (7) | Fig 5 | |

| 11 | Install in the reverse order | ||
| 12 | Check supplemental restraint system (SRS) with the aid of STAR DIAGNOSIS | Only when the driver airbag unit (1) has been replaced. | |
