With the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI) system, all calls are made with the portable CTEL (A34/6) via the handsfree system. "Private mode" is not possible.

The user has several ways of accepting the call: 

• Pressing the "Accept call" button on the respective portable CTEL (A34/6).
• Pressing the accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3) on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).
• In vehicles with code (813) voice control system (VCS) by means of voice input or pressing the VCS switch (S93/2)
• Pressing the "Accept telephone call" control button on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) of the Comand operating and display system (without navigation) (standard) or with code (352) Comand APS (with navigation).
