Remove/install rear bumper - AR88.20-P-2200R

MODEL 230.4 except CODE (P99) "AMG Black Series" special model

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of lifting platform and position four support plates at lifting platform support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1 Raise vehicle with vehicle lift    
2 Press fender liner (2) to side and unscrew bolt (3). IMPORTANT Left and right sides of the vehicle.  
3 Unscrew bolt (4) at bottom of rear fender (1). IMPORTANT Left and right sides of the vehicle.  
4 Unscrew bolts (5) at bottom of rear bumper (1).    
5 Remove side luggage compartment paneling   AR68.30-P-4800R
6 Remove overpressure reservoir (6), lay down to side with pneumatic line connected and remove foam rubber padding (7) On vehicles with code (404) Left multi-contour seat or code (405) Right multi-contour seat  
7 Remove left and right damping mat (8)    
8 Unscrew bolts (9) at side in fender    
9 Disconnect PTS connector for rear bumper (X35/28) and press rubber grommet with electrical line out of body On vehicles with code (220) Parktronic system (PTS)  
10 Unscrew nuts (11) from rear center section    
11 Remove rear bumper (1) with aid of helper IMPORTANT With code (220) Parktronic system (PTS) remove electric wiring harness from body.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure that rear bumper (1) is seated correctly in left and right bracket (12).
 
12 Install in the reverse order
