Disconnect ground line replaced by switch off ignition

Step 2

	Remove/install
1	Transfer basic data of system diagnosis control unit (N55) to STAR DIAGNOSIS	Only when replacing the system diagnosis control unit (N55).
		Installation:  Transfer basic data from STAR DIAGNOSIS to system diagnosis control unit (N55).
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		STAR DIAGNOSIS system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
2	Switch off the ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS control unit	On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go, press the Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until the ignition is switched off. Remove the Keyless Go transmitter card or transmitter key from the vehicle and store beyond the reach of the transmitter (min. 2 m).
3	Unclip door sill molding (2)		Fig 2
4	Remove edge guard (3) in area of cover (1)
5	Remove cover (1) from A-pillar.
6	Unscrew nuts (4)
7	Disconnect electrical connector (5) and remove system diagnosis control unit (N55)
8	Install in the reverse order
