Remove/install SAM control unit with fuse and relay box in engine compartment - AR54.21-P-1270RBS (Black Series)

	Remove/install
	Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge		AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1	Temporarily store basic data of driver-side SAM control unit (N10/11) in STAR DIAGNOSIS	When replacing the passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11). Installation: Transfer the temporarily stored basic data to the new passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11).
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2	Disconnect ground line at the on-board electrical system battery		AR54.10-P-0003RBS
3	Open lock (1) and remove cover (2)
4	Remove screws (3) and lift off housing top (4)
5	Unlock and remove fuse holder (5)	Installation:  The installation position for the fuse holder (5) is marked by a colored and mechanical coding.
6	Detach electrical connector (6) from passenger-side fuse and relay module (K40/4)
7	Lift passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) with passenger-side fuse and relay module (K40/4) upwards out of guides for fuse and relay box until the electrical connectors (10) are accessible
8	Open cap (7)
9	Release cable strap on clamping lever (8)	Installation:  Secure clamping lever (8) with cable strap.
10	Open clamping lever (8) and remove electrical line (9) (arrow)
11	Detach electrical connectors (10) on passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) with fuse and relay module, passenger-side (K40/4)	Installation:  The installation position for the electrical connectors (10) is marked by a colored and mechanical coding.
12	Remove passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) with passenger-side fuse and relay module (K40/4)
13	Compare population of fuses and relays for new passenger-side fuse and relay module (K40/4) with fuse and relay population for old relay population of old passenger-side fuse and relay module (K40/4), if necessary, adapt population	When replacing the passenger-side fuse and relay module (K40/4).
14	Install in the reverse order
