Prepare rear inner wheelhouse for installation - AR63.10-P-0670-03SX

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on the left component for model 221 and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Mark separation line on inner rear wheelhouse (1) (area A).

    IMPORTANT Transfer separation line from vehicle (area A).

  2. Cut inner rear wheelhouse (1) on separation point with body saw (area A).
  3. Remove inner rear wheelhouse section (1).

  4. Grind connection surfaces on inner rear wheelhouse (1) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS round wire brush.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  5. Grind connection surfaces on inner rear wheelhouse (1) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS round wire brush.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  6. Using zinc dust paint, coat insides of spot weld flanges that were not additionally bonded.

    IMPORTANT Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas B, C, D, E and F).

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
