Remove/Install COMAND APS hard drive - AR82.85-P-1001A
MODEL 164 as of model year 2009 with CODE (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer with CODE (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) except CODE (498) Japan version
When replacing hard disk (2), perform initial startup of hard disk (2) at COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) with STAR DIAGNOSIS.
Remove the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3). See Remove/install radio - AR82.60-P-7502GZ .
Set down COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) on an electrostatic discharge (ESD) workstation. Otherwise damage to the electronics of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) or the hard disk (2) may occur.
Remove screws/bolts (1).
Remove hard disk (2) upward (arrow).
Avoid contact of the conductor tracks on the circuit board, otherwise damage to the electronics of the hard disk (2) or the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) may occur.
Install in the reverse order.
Update map data for navigation system.
Perform function test.
