IMPORTANT Always check the inside and outside of the brake disks for damage.

The following types of damage may occur:

  1. Chippings on the friction surfaces
  2. Chippings on edge of brake disk ring
  3. Chippings on perforation holes
  1. Chippings on the friction surfaces

Chippings on the friction surface can occur due to thermal stresses. A max. of 3 chippings up to a size of 400 mm 2 and max. 2 mm depth are permissible for each brake disk.

The smaller chippings shown are normal, they have no influence on brake power or durability and are therefore not a problem.

  2. Chippings on edge of brake disk ring

Chippings on the edge of the brake disk ring can occur due to thermal stresses or collisions. A max. of 3 chippings of the following dimensions are permissible per brake disk: length in circumferential direction: max. 25 mm

Width in direction of friction surface: max. 8 mm

    Depth: max. 3 mm

  3. Chippings on perforation holes

Chippings at perforation holes can occur due to thermal stresses. They are permissible up to a length, width and depth of 3 mm in each case.
