Replace brake fluid - AP42.00-P-4280B

DANGER Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
DANGER Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A

  Preparatory activity     
1 Open engine hood    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR AR88.40-P-1000RG
CLEANING Clean     
2 Clean area surrounding cap (1) and expansion reservoir (2)    
REMOVING Remove     
3 Unscrew cap (1)    
4 Suction off brake fluid from the expansion reservoir (2)    
5 Add new brake fluid up to the Max. marking in the expansion reservoir (2)    
6 Connect filling and bleeding unit (01) to expansion reservoir (2) and switch on IMPORTANT Observe the operator's manual for the filling and bleeding unit (01).  
  Change fluid     
7 Lift vehicle on vehicle lift

8 Replace brake fluid

REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Brake fluids (DOT 4 plus) MB 331.0 brake fluid A 000 989 08 07
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bleed screw on front axle brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1003-10T 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bleed screw on rear axle brake caliper
New brake fluid must escape without any bubbles via the bleed hose:

Bleed the system.

REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR AR42.10-P-0010-02RK
INSPECT Check     
9 Check brake system for leaks If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
INSTALLING Install     
10 Lower vehicle with lifting platform    
11 Disconnect filling and bleeding unit (01)    
12 Screw on cap (1)    
INSPECT Check     
13 Check fluid level in expansion reservoir (2)   AP42.10-P-4210A
