Location
The CD changer is installed in the glove compartment. The purpose is to play audio CDs and change CDs present in the magazine. It has a Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) interface and a wake-up line input.
Task
The 6-disk CD changer can transmit digital audio signals in stereo and Dolby Surround. Music CDs with the corresponding file format (Red Book audio CD standard) are used. In addition, the CD changer can playback data CDs with MP3 files (a max. of 99 tracks).
The CD changer has an automatic pull-in feature for six CDs. The CDs are loaded centrally through an insertion slot. Each CD can be loaded or removed individually with the six selection buttons on the CD changer. However, it is also possible to load or eject all CDs at once.
The CD changer is a MOST bus participant and can be operated using the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3), the radio and navigation unit (A2/56) and via the radio (A2).
