The cavity preservation with wax already performed at the factory completes the corrosion prevention measures. No repetition of this preservation work is necessary.

Repair preservation 

After accident repair spray cavities with wax in machined areas. Also carry out repair preservation when exchanging detachable parts (e.g. fender, engine hood, doors, liftgate and rear-end door) as well as after welding, riveting and soldering work. Always apply repair preservation agent twice with a drying time of 5 minutes in between.

After drying, ensure that drain holes are not plugged.

It is important that the wax preservation agent is applied following sealing and paintwork, however, before assembly. Otherwise, paint flaws result or detachable parts are contaminated with wax. Vehicle shells provided ex works with top coat are already treated with the series-standard cavity preservation. Also apply two subsequent coats of preservation agent to vehicle shell after painting.

Processing instructions 

The cavities should be dry for preservation. Before commencing preservation work, check the spray pattern for the spraying hose or spray can. The wax must spray uniformly from the openings in a circular pattern. Particularly advantageous are nozzles which spray toward the front as well as at an angle toward the rear.

The spraying hose of the hand-held lance must be "stiff". Hoses that tend to roll up are not suitable. When applying preservation agent, insert the spraying hose into the cavities in all directions as far as possible. Spray whilst the hose is slowly moved in and out (application temperature not below +15 °C). Clean spray nozzle and spray hose together with spray equipment.
