Remove/install track rod - AR35.20-P-0109TX

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the and position the four support plates below the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
NOTES While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surface of all aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected    
IMPORTANT Tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components only when vehicle is in the ready-to-drive condition.    
1.1 Empty rear air springs using STAR DIAGNOSIS Vehicles with AIRmatic (semi-active air suspension), code 489 AR32.22-P-1500-04TX
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
STAR DIAGNOSIS, diagnosis system
INSTALLING Carefully observe the official charging process for the air springs to prevent them from possible destruction: ↓

Charge air spring with STAR DIAGNOSIS at design level. AR32.22-P-1500-03TX
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA32.25-P-1006-04K 
SPECIAL TOOL *BA32.25-P-1007-04K 
COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS *WE58.40-Z-1030-11A 
COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS *WE58.40-Z-1002-15A

2 Secure vehicle on the lifting platform   AR00.60-P-0100TX
3 Remove rear wheel    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary   AP40.10-P-4050TX
4 Lift wheel carrier (7) using transmission jack and transmission platform until the rear axle shaft is roughly horizontal INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Tighten tie rod (4) bolted connections.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA35.20-P-1001-04E 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA35.20-P-1002-04E 
COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Transmission jack *WE58.40-Z-1030-11A 
COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Passenger car transmission platform *WE58.40-Z-1018-11A 
5 Detach tie rod (4) from wheel carrier (7) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Mount bolted connection loosely  
6 Detach tie rod (4) from rear axle carrier (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace tapping plate (4c). Assemble bolted connection loosely.  
INSPECT Checking     
7 Check rubber mount (4a, 4b) of tie rod (4) for signs of damage IMPORTANT The tie rod (4) should be replaced if the rubber mounts (4a, 4b) are damaged.  
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Perform chassis alignment   AR40.20-P-0200TX
