	Checking
	Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid.	Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.	AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
	Before opening the hydraulic circuit of the power steering, thoroughly clean the surrounding area of the separation point. Even the smallest dirt particles introduced into the hydraulic components can lead to malfunctions and damage to the power steering
1	Turn key in ignition lock into position 0
2	Open engine hood and raise to vertical position
	Opening engine hood, moving to upright position and closing		AR88.40-P-1000TX
3.1	Remove engine trim panel	Engine 642
	Remove/install engine cover		AR01.10-P-2405TQ
3.2	Remove front engine cover (3)	Engine 156
4	Remove cap (1) of power steering expansion reservoir (2)	Press the cap (1) downwards and turn counterclockwise through 90°.
5	Wipe off oil dipstick (1a) with a fluff-free rag and seal the expansion reservoir (2) with cap (1)	Press the cap (1) downwards and turn clockwise through 90°.
6	Remove the cap (1) again and read off the oil level on the oil dipstick (1a), correct the oil level if necessary	Observe the oil temperature and level marks on the oil dipstick (1a). To avoid measurement errors: hold the oil dipstick (1a) vertical. If the fluid level is too low, determine cause and remedy against a separate order

7	Seal expansion reservoir (2) with cap (1)
8.1	Reinstall engine cover	Engine 642
	Remove/install engine cover		AR01.10-P-2405TQ
8.2	Install front engine cover (3)	Engine 156
9	Close engine hood
	Opening engine hood, moving to upright position and closing		AR88.40-P-1000TX
