Remove/install steering angle sensor - AR46.10-P-0300SX

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
IMPORTANT Steering angle sensor (N49) and steering column module (N80) form one component and can only be replaced together where necessary    
1 Remove clock spring contact   AR46.10-P-0200SX 
2 Unclip retaining lugs (a) of steering column module (N80) from carrier plate (5)    
3 Remove steering angle sensor (N49) from carrier plate (5) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Check basic position of steering angle sensor (N49) (observe arrows on steering angle sensor (N49) and inner race (2). If the steering angle sensor (N49) twists, move the steering angle sensor (N49) into the center position before installing it again:

Turn inner race (2) of steering angle sensor (N49) counterclockwise as far as the limit stop (turn gently against the limit stop, risk of damage), then turn clockwise approx. two revolutions until the arrows on the steering angle sensor (N49) and inner race (2) match up.
 
4 Install in the reverse order    
5 Perform calibration of the backup camera using STAR DIAGNOSIS Vehicles with code (218) Backup camera
IMPORTANT Follow the instructions under menu item "backup camera control unit".
 
6 Perform initialization of DTR control unit after replacing steering angle sensor, added After replacing steering angle sensor (N49) on vehicles with code (219) Distronic (DTR) or code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS
