Task

The K1 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) is actuated by the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit and influences the position of the K1. regulating valve. The pressure in the K1 multi-disk clutch depends on the position of the regulating valve and thus on the geometry of the K1 regulating valve. The K1 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) has a rising characteristic.

This means that the oil pressure applied in the K1 regulating valve increases as the actuation current increases. In limp-home mode of the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) all the control solenoid valves are de-energized. The K1 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) thus supplies no pressure.

Body

In the K1 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) a proportional solenoid converts the electrical signals from the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4). The float needle can also be moved into intermediate positions as a result.

Function

The K1 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) assigns a proportional pressure to the current which is controlled by the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit.
