A voice connection to the CAC is also set up via the communication module integrated into the emergency call system control unit. The communication module transmits and receives the mobile phone signals or data in the following way:

IMPORTANT If connection to the CAC cannot be established when an automatic TELE AID emergency call is triggered, then a voice connection is automatically set up using the emergency number "911" and the listed data has to be communicated verbally.

IMPORTANT If a manual or automatic TELE AID emergency call is active, it is indicated by one of the two red light emitting diodes (LED) integrated into the emergency call system button flashing.

IMPORTANT In the event of a manual or automatic TELE AID emergency call, other vehicle-related services (e.g. MB-Info call) and, for vehicles with code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/Canada, active mobile phone connections are interrupted.

IMPORTANT In the event of a multifunction antenna malfunction (e.g. defective because of rollover) the emergency call system control unit automatically uses the emergency call system antenna (A2/52) to transmit mobile phone signals or data.
