Digital TV tuner, component description - GF82.60-P-3118CEJ
MODEL 204.0 /2 /9 with CODE (498) Japan version as of model year 2010 /YoM 09
MODEL 204.3 with CODE (498) Japan version
Shown on model 204.0
Location
On model 204.0/2/3 the TV digital tuner is located in the trunk on the right side wall behind the paneling on a bracket. With model 204.9 the TV digital tuner is located in the trunk on the left side wall behind the paneling on a bracket.
The TV digital tuner is delivered with a "B-CAS card". The card slot in the TV digital tuner is sealed with a cap to prevent unintended removal of the "B-CAS" card.
Task
In addition to the TV reception, the TV digital tuner also supports the following functions:
- "Electronic Program Guide"
Enables reception and display of information about the broadcast (e.g. title, time, duration of broadcast, encryption, program category, age restriction, etc.).
- Broadcast Markup Language (BML)
Enables the reception and structured display of information that is sent by the available stations (e.g. on the weather, news, traffic information).
Reception of regional information is also possible.
- 2 languages are supported, depending on station availability (e.g. Japanese and English).
The TV digital tuner performs the following tasks:
- Receive signals
- Demodulating and decoding signals
- Transmit signals
Receive signals
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
- Direct lines
Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
The TV digital tuner is a subscriber of MOST and communicates with the COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
Direct lines
- Power supply via circuit 31 and circuit 30g using one direct line each
- Electronic wake-up for MOST via a direct line
- TV 1 antenna amplifier and DAB Band III (A94/1)
- TV 2 and Keyless-Go antenna amplifier (A94/2) (model 204.0/3/9) or TV 2 antenna amplifier (A94/2) (model 204.2)
- TV 3 antenna amplifier (A94/3)
Demodulating and decoding signals
The TV signals are evaluated internally and separated into video and audio signals.
Transmit signals
- MOST
- Direct lines
MOST
The TV digital tuner is a subscriber of MOST and communicates with the COMAND controller unit.
Direct lines
- Phantom voltage to the following amplifiers:
- TV 1 and DAB Band III antenna amplifiers
- TV 2 and Keyless-Go antenna amplifier (model 204.0/3/9) or TV 2 antenna amplifier (model 204.2)
- TV 3 antenna amplifier
- Transmission of video signals via a Y-brightness (luminance)/C-color information (chrominance) (Y/C) line to the COMAND controller unit
