The bonding area (2) on the body flange (1) must be free of dust and grease. Only apply primer filler when repairing damage in entire bonding area (2) on body flange (1) to prevent adhesion problems when installing window. If the damage is < 10%, repair is possible with a primer stick, if the damage is > 10% coat body flange (1) with 2-component primer filler.
Observe the manufacturer's specifications for the curing and processing time of the primer filler.
- Cut off residual adhesive material on body flange (1) down to a height of approx. 2 mm using suitable scraper.
- Remove adhesive material residues.
- Clean adhesive surface on body flange (1) with cleaner from repair kit and rub dry with rag..
- Repair paint damage in bonding area (2) and on body flange (1) with primer stick or 2-component primer filler.
- Apply primer from component repair kit in areas where residual adhesive material on body flange (1) is missing or damaged.
Allow primer to flash off for at least 10 minutes.
- Install rubber window spacers.
