Remove/install rear spring - AR32.20-P-0230V

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of death  cased by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. -
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   -
IMPORTANTInstallation  Tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components only in curb condition.    
1 Remove cover (72c) of spring link (72).    
2 SPECIAL TOOL Insert clamping plates (01b, 01c) in the rear spring (73) SPECIAL TOOL Tensioning plates Fig 3
3 SPECIAL TOOL Insert tensioning device (01a) in the SPECIAL TOOL clamping plates (01b, 01c) SPECIAL TOOL Tensioning device Fig 2
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by pinching or jamming  when working on loaded springs or spring bodies Use only approved clamping devices; shield off hazard area if necessary. Check special tools for damage (visual inspection) and function. Wear protective gloves. -
4 Tension rear spring (73)   -
IMPORTANT Springs; general background information.   -
5 Unscrew nut (72b), pull out bolt and detach spring link (72) from rear axle carrier IMPORTANT Using assembly lever, press spring link out of spring link support on rear axle carrier.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA35.20-P-1001-01A 
6 Remove rear spring (73) CLEAN Clean support surface of rear spring (73).
IMPORTANT After replacing the rear spring or rubber mount (74): ↓
 
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   Check and correct headlamp setting AP82.10-P-8260V
7 Install in the reverse order
