Malfunction of windshield washer nozzles at temperatures below 0°C - AF82.35-P-6001A

59 483 74 Heat output of windshield washer nozzle heater not sufficient IMPORTANT If complaint is received, first check according to work instructions and convert if necessary  
  IMPORTANT Wiring harness connected in serial rather than in parallel 1 Remove plug (3) from left and right windshield washer nozzle (figure A).
IMPORTANT Hose can remain installed.
 
    2 Check lines for continuity:
↓
Test step 1: 
  • Measure continuity between pin 1 right nozzle and pin 1 left nozzle (figure A).
  • Measure continuity between pin 2 right nozzle and pin 2 left nozzle (figure A).

IMPORTANT If continuity is present, do not replace wiring harness (5), check individual components.
Test step 2: 
  • Measure continuity between pin 1 right nozzle and pin 2 left nozzle (figure A).

IMPORTANT If continuity is present, perform the following repair:

    2 Remove air inlet grate on both sides. AR88.40-P-3001V
    3 Remove foam pieces  
    4 Fasten pull wire or cable (4) on left end of wiring harness (5) to facilitate installation (figure B).  
    5 Pull out wiring harness (5) and remove the two tie straps (6) from the engine hood hinge (7) (figure B).  
    6 Slide adapter wiring harness (8) at left on engine hood hinge (7) into engine hood and pull in with aid of pull wire or cable (4).  
    7 Fasten adapter wiring harness (8) to engine hood hinge with tie strap (6).  
    8 Install foam pieces.  
    9 Connect adapter wiring harness connector (8) to wiring harness connector (5)
IMPORTANT Random assignment
 
    10 Remove nut (8) from weld stud behind washer fluid reservoir filler neck (10) (figure C).
IMPORTANT Nut (9) is not longer required.
 
    11 Fasten wiring harness bracket by pressing onto weld stud (11) (figure C)  
    12 Tie back wiring harness (5) extension and position below washer fluid reservoir filler neck (10) (figure C).
NOTES Ensure that the wiring harness (5) is positioned without pinching to prevent damage
 
    13 Insert plug for adapter wiring harness into left and right water nozzle.  
    14 Install air inlet grate on both sides. AR88.40-P-3001V
    15 Check window washer fluid concentrate, correct if necessary
