MODEL 230 as of 1.3.06 with CODE (487) Active Body Control (ABC) 

Location 

The front axle central reservoir is located at the ABC front axle valve unit (Y36/1)

Location 

The rear axle central reservoir is located at left rear in the wheelhouse

Tasks 

In both central reservoirs, oil is stored at high pressure (p = 200 bar) in order to quickly provide the necessary energy to cope with a sudden increase in oil consumption (e.g. to compensate brake diving), i.e. the pressure supply is buffered with the two central reservoirs.
