Disconnect ground line replaced by switch off ignition

Step 2

	Remove/install
	Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge		AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1	Remove left luggage box (1) and place to one side with lines still connected		AR68.30-P-7440RA
2	Switch off the ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS control unit	On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go, press the Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until the ignition is switched off. Remove the Keyless Go transmitter card or transmitter key from the vehicle and store beyond the reach of the transmitter (min. 2 m).
3.1	Disconnect intake hose (2) from additional fan (3)	Only if retrofitted.
4	Remove clip (4) and pull CD player with changer (A2/6) up and out	Remove CD player with changer (A2/6) until electrical connectors (5, 7) and fiber optic cable coupling (6) are accessible.
5.1	Disconnect electrical connector (7) for additional fan (3) from CD player with changer (A2/6)	Only if retrofitted.
6.1	Remove screws (8) and remove additional fan (3) from CD player with changer (A2/6)	Only if retrofitted.
7	Disconnect electrical connector (5) from CD player with changer (A2/6)
8	Disconnect fiber optic cable coupling (6) from CD player with changer (A2/6)	To avoid damaging them, do not kink fiber optic cables, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Cover fiber optic cable coupling (6) and implement connection on CD player with changer (A2/6). Refer to: ↓

9.1	Remove screws (9) and remove CD player with changer (A2/6) from bracket (10)	Only when replacing CD player with changer (A2/6). Installation: When replacing CD player with changer (A2/6), transport locks (11) must be removed as per instructions on CD player with changer (A2/6).
10	Install in the reverse order
