Inspect condition of brake disks - AP42.10-P-4258SX

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects. Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
1 Remove wheels   AP40.10-P-4050SX
INSPECT Checking     
2 Check brake disks (1) at front and rear axle IMPORTANT Inspect for scores and cracks. Hairline cracks can occur due to high stress.
IMPORTANT Brake disks (1) do not have to be replaced when the crack length (2) is a maximum of 25 mm.
With perforated brake disks or those provided with sunk holes (1) measure the crack length (2) including the bore diameter.
With gaping cracks and score marks deeper than 0.5 mm replace brake disks (1).		  
  Remove/install brake disc Model 216 with engine 156, 273, 275, model 221 with engine 156, 272, 273, 275, 629, 642
Model 216 with engine 157, 278, model 221 with engine 157, 276, 278, 651		 AR42.10-P-0220SX
3 Remove brake pads Vehicles with fixed brake caliper AR42.10-P-0161SX
    Vehicles with floating brake caliper AR42.10-P-0160SX
MEASURING Measure     
4 Measure brake disk thickness on front and rear axle using SPECIAL TOOL caliper gage (012) IMPORTANT Observe recommended limit dimensions, so that the wear limit is not dropped below until the next maintenance service, if necessary replace brake disks (1).  
  Remove/install brake disc Model 216 with engine 156, 273, 275, model 221 with engine 156, 272, 273, 275, 629, 642 Model 216 with engine 157, 278, model 221 with engine 157, 276, 278, 651 AR42.10-P-0220SX
    Test values for front brake disks *BE42.10-P-1001-08O
    Test values for rear brake disks *BE42.10-P-1001-09M
    SPECIAL TOOL Vernier caliper Fig 2
5 Install in the reverse order
