Detaching 

  1. Apply parking brake
  2. Unscrew twelve-point collar nut (12).

    IMPORTANT The twelve-point collar nut (12) should be replaced each time it is unscrewed.

    IMPORTANT If a self-locking collar nut is mounted, the thread of the rear axle shaft is to be cleaned. Use suitable brush to remove residue of thread locking compound (arrow).

    Mount on and secure 

    IMPORTANT Only for thread M26: note twelve-point collar nut (12) variant. The non self-locking  variant is replaced by the self-locking variant.

  3. Tighten twelve-point collar nut (12) TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
  4. Secure twelve-point collar nut (12) with caulker so that no gap remains between the groove and locking collar of the twelve-point collar nut.

    IMPORTANT Double lock twelve-point collar nut (arrows), for non self-locking  variant. Lock twelve-point collar nut one time only, for self-locking  variant.

  5. Release parking brake.
