Checking condition of spring struts - AR32.25-P-1017-02T

To ensure the satisfactory condition of the AIRmatic it is necessary to check the spring elements for damage prior to installation.

Front axle (spring strut removed):

It is possible to recognize unpressurized or low-pressure spring struts in that the shock absorber tube (1) is not firm in the outer guide (2), i.e. the shock absorber tube (1) can be moved to and fro in the outer guide (2) without much resistance (arrows). Furthermore, it must be possible to feel the bellows (3) under the protective boot (4) and the bellows must form a full rolling fold. The protective boot (4) must not be damaged (e.g. cracks).

IMPORTANTUnpressurized spring struts are scrap and must not be pressurized and fitted to vehicles under any circumstances!
