Press out 

1. Press supporting joint out of steering knuckle (7) using puller (044), thrust piece (044c), press (044e) and pressure screw.

   Aid of helper required.

   The press out/in tool 220 589 03 43 00 contains:

   Puller (044)

   Thrust piece (044c)

   The press out/in tool 129 589 03 43 00 contains: press (044e)

   Pressing in on vehicles with fixed brake caliper 

2. Clean mounting hole in steering knuckle (7).

1. 3.1 Press in supporting joint into steering knuckle (7) using puller (044), thrust piece (044d), press (044e) and pressure screw.

   Aid of helper required.

   The press out/in tool 220 589 03 43 00 contains:

   Puller (044)

   Thrust piece (044d)

   The press out/in tool 129 589 03 43 00 contains: press (044e)

   Press-in left supporting ball joint: Drive wheel carrier (7) all the way in to the right. Press-in right supporting ball joint: Drive wheel carrier (7) all the way in to the left.

   Position tools carefully in order to avoid damaging the brake hose and strut rod.

   Pressing in on vehicles with floating brake caliper 

2. 3.2 Press supporting ball joint with puller (044), thrust pieces (044d, 045a, 045b), sleeve (43a) press (044e) and pressure screw into the steering knuckle (7).

   Insert supporting ball joint into the thrust piece (044d) and sleeve (43a) first, then use the puller (044), thrust pieces (045a, 045b), press (044e) and pressure screw to press into the steering knuckle (7).

   Aid of helper required.

   The press out/in tool 220 589 03 43 00 contains:

   Puller (044)

   Thrust piece (044d)

   The press out/in tool 129 589 03 43 00 contains:

   Thrust piece (045a), part number 129 589 03 43 04

   Thrust piece (045b), part number 129 589 03 43 05 press (044e)
