- Mark separation lines (area a). Dimension x approx. 40 mm
- Cut separation points with body saw (area a).
Completely separate longitudinal member.
- Mark separation lines (areas b and c).
Dimension y approx. 40 mm
Dimension z approx. 80 mm
- Cut separation points with body saw (areas b and c).
Do not damage reinforcement in between of front longitudinal member.
- Expose spot welds (areas d and e).
- Cut out spot welds with
spot weld milling cutter (areas d and e).
- Remove remaining section of longitudinal member.
- Sand connection surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.
Sand spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding and drilling chips using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
