  1. Remove left and right installation frame (2) out of the old headliner (1).
  2. Saw left and right cutting template (3) in the area of the broken line out of the old headliner (1).
  3. Support the new headliner (1) in the front area with suitable spacers, e.g. foamed material or Styrofoam blocks.

NOTES Do not use any hard or sharp-edged objects, otherwise the covering of the new headliner (1) will be damaged.

IMPORTANT Installing shims below the spacers prevents the new headliner (1) from sagging and eliminates damage when performing the following steps.

  4. Place left cutting template (3) onto the new headliner (1) and align on the left opening (4) for the pivot bearing of the sun visor.
  5. Record the cutout for the opening (9) of the left vanity mirror illumination onto the new headliner (1).
  6. Place right cutting template (3) onto the new headliner (1) and align on the right opening (4) for the pivot bearing of the sun visor.
  7. Record the cutout for the opening (9) of the right vanity mirror illumination onto the new headliner (1).
  8. Remove cutting templates (3) and saw out the openings (9) for the left vanity mirror illumination and right.

NOTES Use metal sawing blade, otherwise headliner (1) can be damaged.

Saw out within the recorded cutting line, otherwise the openings (9) for the vanity mirror illumination will be too large.

  9. Install installation frame (2) into new headliner (1) from bottom.

IMPORTANT Use new installation frame (2).

  10. Bend fastening shackles (5) of the installation frame (2) using a plastic mallet. At the same time, the installation frame (2) must be supported from below with a suitable clean object.

NOTES Carefully fit on tool at installation frame (2), otherwise the headliner (1) can be soiled or damaged.
