Retrofit antenna for global positioning system (GPS) - AN82.61-P-7474-04TX
Routing diagram for antenna line
- Make bracket (10) out of a commercially available body replacement panel having a thickness of approx. 0.8 mm as per dimensions.
- Grind bracket (10), prime and paint matt black (spray can).
- Glue felt strips (12) onto the edge of the bracket (10).
- Glue GPS antenna (2) onto the bracket (10) as per dimensions.
- Glue on antenna line using felt strips (13).
- Cut off strip (7) flush to the lamellae of the grille (9) using multicutter (8).
- Unclip clips (3) and detach insulating mat (6) in the lower area of the hood.
- Remove expansion rivets (5) and unclip cover (4) from engine hood.
- Glue felt strip to both sides of mounting plates (14) on hood.
- Unscrew screw (15) (is no longer required).
- Insert bracket (10) between mounting plates (14) on hood.
- Fasten bracket (10) to mounting plate (17) on hood using supplied screw (16), shim and sleeve (24).
Sleeve (24) serves as a spacer between the bracket (10) and the mounting plate (17).
- Remove expansion rivet (19).
- Pull filler neck (20) from washer fluid reservoir.
- Detach radiator tank drain hose (21) and put to one side.
- Route antenna line (arrow) of GPS antenna (2) along present wiring and fasten with cable tie.
- Unclip connector housing (23) from antenna line (arrow).
- Pry out grommet (22) from inside.
- Cut off free tab (24) from grommet (22) and guide antenna line through.
- Seal antenna line in grommet (22) using sealing compound.
- Install grommet (22).
- Clip connector housing (23) to antenna line.
- Route antenna line (arrow) from grommet (22) along present wiring to glove box and fasten with cable tie.
