Sequential floor shift, function - GF26.60-P-4000-03P
Models 203, 209, 211, 230
Function
The shift lever has "stable" and "unstable" positions.
Stable positions:
- G (basic position)
- N (neutral position)
- R (reverse gear)
Unstable positions
- + (upshift button)
- - (downshift button)
- A/M (autoshift/manual mode button)
The driver selects the next gear up by tapping the shift lever in the direction indicated by the "+" symbol. A downshift by one gear is initiated by tapping the shift lever (1) in the direction indicated by the "-" symbol.
The plausibility of the driver's shift request is tested by the automated manual transmission control module (N15/6). When the gearshift has been executed, the gear currently engaged in the transmission is shown in the display in the instrument cluster (A1).
NOTE:
There is no specific park position as there is in an automatic transmission. Either 1st or reverse is engaged when the vehicle is parked.
