Automatic transmission (AT), selector lever positions - GF27.10-P-0001-05NT

The selector lever can be moved into 6 different positions. The driver can select 2 different transmission modes using the transmission mode switch (S16/5).

The selector lever positions have the following meanings:

P Park lock and start position.

R Reverse gear.

N Neutral and start position (power transmission does not take place, the vehicle is freely moveable).

D Drive mode, all 7 forward gears are available.

+Touch: Upshift by one shift range each time.

Press and hold down: Change from the current shift range direct to "D"

- Touch: Shift down one shift range.

The selected gear is only engaged at the permitted rotational speed.

Press and hold down: The transmission is shifted into a gear from which the vehicle can be easily accelerated or decelerated.

IMPORTANT With a finite shift range, upshifting takes place close to the engine limit speed.

IMPORTANT If kickdown is actuated the gears are shifted up and down as for the sport program "S".
