AIRmatic level adjustment, function - GF32.22-P-4004B

MODEL 211 with CODE (489a) Airmatic (semi-active air suspension) except CODE (491) U.S. version 

MODEL 220 except CODE (491) U.S. version except CODE (487a) Active body control (ABC)

The vehicle level is either raised or lowered according to the vehicle speed and the setting of the level adjustment switch. There are 3 possible vehicle levels:

IMPORTANT The switch position selected by the driver is saved even after the ignition is turned off until the driver changes the setting again manually or until the setting is canceled automatically after a certain speed or time threshold is exceeded.

Level adjustment switch actuated (effective from 0 km/h to < 120 km/h) 

If the vehicle speed v >80 km/h is not maintain for longer than 5 minutes or if the vehicle does not exceed v =120 km/h, the vehicle remains raised until the driver sets the level adjustment switch to "normal level".

Level adjustment switch not actuated 

NOTE: With the comfort and sport switch if the setting "Sport 1" or "Sport 2" is set, the vehicle is lowered to the lowered level (-15 mm).
