Heating system heat exchanger, location The heater heat exchanger (1) is located in the AC housing behind the instrument panel.  
Heating system heat exchanger, task The heater heat exchanger (1) serves to heat up the air flow which is led into the vehicle interior via various defroster, ventilation and heater nozzles.
