Air ducting, function - GF83.10-P-2182-02T

Function 

Center nozzle 

The direction of air flow can be controlled via the separately adjustable slats at the center nozzle as desired, either upwards, downwards to the left or right or even to the center.

Using the adjustment wheels, the center nozzle can be opened and closed, individually for each side.

To open, turn the adjustment wheels upward.

With the help of the cold air mixing thumb wheel located centrally in the central nozzle, cold air can be mixed, which then flows forward out of the ventilation nozzle in order to achieve a temperature difference between the footwell and head area (warm feet, cool head).

Vent nozzle 

The ventilation nozzle can be opened and closed via the cold air mixture thumb wheel located centrally in the center nozzle.

No further adjustment options exist.

The drafts, possibly caused by the center nozzle and side nozzles, can be reduced by opening the ventilation nozzle.

Windshield defroster nozzle 

The air supply to the windshield defroster nozzle can be opened and closed via the defroster button in the AAC control and operating module (N22) or comfort automatic air conditioning (N22/7).

There is no separate provision for adjustment.

Temperature-controlled air flows out of the defroster nozzle.

Right and left lateral nozzle 

The direction of air flow can be controlled via the separately adjustable slats at the lateral nozzle as desired, either upwards, downwards to the left or right or even to the center.

To open, turn the adjustment wheel upward.

The lateral nozzle is closed when the adjustment wheel is turned downward all the way.

Right and left side window defroster nozzle 

The air supply to the side window defroster nozzles can be opened and closed via the defroster button in the AAC control and operating module (N22) or comfort automatic air conditioning (N22/7).

There is no separate provision for adjustment.

Temperature-controlled air flows out of the defroster nozzles.

B-pillar lateral nozzle on left and right 

The direction of air flow can be controlled via the separately adjustable slats at the B-pillar lateral nozzles on left and right as desired, either upwards, downwards to the left or right or even to the center.

To open, turn the adjustment wheel to the right.

The B-pillar lateral nozzles on left and right are closed when the adjustment wheel is turned all the way to the left.

Footwell air outlet at front left and right 

The air supply of the front footwell air outlet can be opened and closed via the AAC control and operating module (N22) or comfort automatic air conditioning (N22/7). There is no separate provision for adjustment. Temperature-controlled air flows out of the front footwell air outlet.

Rear footwell air outlet at left and right 

The air supply of the rear footwell air outlet can be opened and closed via the AAC control and operating module (N22) or comfort automatic air conditioning (N22/7). There is no separate provision for adjustment. Temperature-controlled air flows out of the rear footwell air outlet.

Stowage compartment air vent

The air quantity which is supplied depends on:

The air temperature corresponds approximately to the temperature-controlled air emitted from the rear nozzles. This cannot be separately adjusted.

Right and left rear compartment nozzle 

The direction of air flow can be set by means of two individually-adjustable slats as desired, upwards, downwards, to the left and right.

The rear footwell nozzle can be opened and closed for each side separately via the air volume thumb wheels as well as regulate the air volume.

To open, turn the air quantity adjustment wheels upward.

Air inlet 

Through the air inlet the fresh air required for through-ventilation is led from the ventilation slots in the in the engine hood to the fresh air flap.

Any penetrating water is collected by the water collector and routed outwards by the water drainage.

Rear vent 

The flaps which are attached disk-like in the rear vent open due to the head pressure of the air flowing through the vehicle and allow this air to flow out.

In the event of a vacuum in the vehicle, such as when driving with the window or sunroof open, the flaps will close on their own through gravitational forces. This way they help to avoid any exhaust, dust or moisture from being drawn into the vehicle.
