- Connect ground cable of tank drainage device with vehicle ground point.
The manufacturer's operating instructions and notes must be heeded.
- Slide extraction hose through filler neck into fuel tank and pump fuel out of right-hand chamber.
Use the following extraction hose only, as otherwise the non-return throttle valve will be damaged.

- Remove cover of left service opening.
- Detach electrical connectors from filter.
- Unscrew ring nuts (5) and remove ring (5).
- Seal large area of left service opening with absorbent material.
- Carefully release filter (4) and place down at rear.
- Slide extraction hose through filler neck into fuel tank and pump fuel out of left-hand chamber.
- Replace compression ring (8).
- Install filter (4).
- Install ring (5) and unscrew nuts.
- Remove absorbent material.
- Connect electrical connectors onto filter.
- 15 Install cover of left service opening.
- 16 Remove tank drainage device
