Remove/install upper control panel control unit - AR54.21-P-1262T

MODEL 211.0/2/6 up to 1.6.08 except CODE (809) Model year 2009

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Remove ashtray housing (1) from front center console   AR68.20-P-2400T
2 Unclip fiber optic cable (2) from bracket (3) towards the front On vehicles with code (819) CD-changer  
3 Unclip electrical connector (4) from bracket (3) IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors (4) can vary depending on the equipment.  
4 Remove bolts (5)    
5 Pull kinematics stowage compartment (7) or CD changer out of the center console until the electrical connectors (4) and fiber optic coupling (2) are accessible IMPORTANT Depending on vehicle configuration.  
6 Separate electrical connectors (4)    
7 Remove retaining clamp (6) and disconnect fiber optic cable (2) On vehicles with code (819) CD-changer
NOTES To avoid damaging the fiber optic cable, do not kink fiber optic cable, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm.
 
8 Cover fiber optic cable On vehicles with code (819) CD-changer AR82.95-P-0005-01A
9 Take out kinematics stowage compartment (7) or CD changer IMPORTANT Depending on vehicle configuration.  
10 Open the flap on the kinematics stowage compartment (7) or on the CD-changer completely IMPORTANT Depending on vehicle configuration.  
11 Remove bolts (8) and remove bezel (9) from flap on stowage compartment kinematics (7) or on CD-changer IMPORTANT Depending on vehicle configuration.  
12 Unplug electrical connections (10) and remove upper control panel control unit (N72/1)    
13 Install in the reverse order
