Remove/install SAM control unit with fuse and relay box in trunk - AR54.21-P-1258TY

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Connect Star Diagnosis and temporarily store basic data of rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) in Star Diagnosis When replacing the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Transfer temporarily stored basic data to the new rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2.1 Remove left side paneling in trunk Model 211.0 without code (287) Through-loading feature and without code (924) Bivalent natural gas drive AR68.30-P-4800T

2.2 Remove interior trim on left of load compartment sideways and fold up soundproofing underneath Model 211.2 AR68.30-P-1180T
3 Fold cover (1) to side Only on model 219.3
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Note installation position of cover (1).
 
4 Remove cable ties (2) on bracket (3) and place wiring harness (4) to one side IMPORTANTInstallation:  Install a new cable tie (2).  
5.1 Undo bolts (5) and unhook bracket (6) on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and swivel to one side For vehicles with code (810) Sound system or code (889) Keyless-Go
IMPORTANT For vehicles with code (889) Keyless-Go the electrical connector (7) on the KEYLESS-GO rear module control unit (N102) must also be detached.
 
5.2 Remove PTS control unit from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) On vehicles without code (810) Sound system and without code (889) Keyless-Go  
6 Unscrew nuts (8) from bracket (3)    
7 Unscrew bolt (9) from bracket (3)    
8 Pull (3) bracket far enough forward until electrical connectors on rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) are accessible    
9 Disconnect electrical connectors from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) IMPORTANT The electrical connector leading to circuit 30 must be the first to be disconnected and the last to be contacted. Note color codings of electrical connectors. The number of electrical connectors depends on the vehicle equipment.  
10 Remove rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) with bracket (3)    
11 Remove bracket (3) on rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) When replacing the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).  
12 Check fuse and relay assignment at the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) When replacing the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).  
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Fuse assignment of fuse and relay box in trunk Model 211 GF54.15-P-1256-06TM
