Tailgate control module, purpose - GF68.80-P-4002-02TA

The purpose of the tailgate control module (N111)  is to actuate the tailgate functions and provide incoming information for further processing via the CAN interior compartment bus

Actuation of: 

• Rear wiper (reversing wiper)
• Tailgate lighting system
• Tailgate power closing
• Tailgate central locking

Switching loads: 

• Tailgate wiper motor (M6/4) 
• Tailgate washer nozzle heater (R2/8) 
• Tailgate CL motor (M14/7) 
• Tailgate spotlight (E37) 
• Left license plate lamp (E19/1) 
• Right license plate lamp (E19/2) 
• Right backup lamp (E4/1e3) 
• Right rear fog lamp (E4/1e5) 
• Left backup lamp (E3/1e3) 
• Left rear fog lamp (E3/1e5) 
• Tailgate locking unit (A72) 

The trunk lid keyless go button (S62/21), loading floor switch (S150)  and tailgate closing system switch (S62/36)  are designed as buttons and have a "Toggle" function  , i.e. they differentiate between the "On" and "OFF" status based on the number of actuations  .

Reading in direct signals (depending on equipment): 

• Trunk lid keyless go button (S62/21) 
• Loading floor switch (S150) 
• Tailgate closing system switch (S62/36) 
• Tailgate handle (A12/1) 
• Tailgate locking unit (A72) 

The rotary tumbler switch  and the lock pawl  are included in this locking unit. Their signals for the ATA are received and evaluated by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2)  via a discrete line

Reading in signal via CAN interior compartment bus: 

• Terminal status
• Vehicle speed

Child safety switch without locking: 

ECE: 

• no  mechanical/electrical opening  of tailgate possible from passenger compartment 
• Mechanical/electric opening  of tailgate possible from outside 

USA: 

• no  mechanical/electric opening  of tailgate possible from passenger compartment 
• no  mechanical/electric opening  of tailgate possible from outside 

Interruption of power locking from passenger compartment (status locked or child safety lock) 

ECE: 

• Is possible  and mechanical/electrical unlocking is performed 

USA: 

• Is possible  and no  mechanical/electric unlocking takes place 

The child safety lock  for the tailgate is mechanical  and is not checked electrically
