After a TELE AID emergency call has been triggered, an emergency call telegram is generated by the telecommunications control unit (N112) and then relayed via cellphone (D-net) to the company Tegaron. Then a radio connection (voice connection) is completed to the vehicle.

In the case of an emergency call, the telecommunications control unit (N112) has the sole control of the telephone system to ensure the following:

• If the telephone is switched off before the actuation, it must be activated
• An existing telephone connection is interrupted.

The cellphone connection is established over the telephone system with the aid of the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) (MODEL 211.0) or the telephone antenna (A2/22) (MODEL 211.2). If the telephone antenna (A2/22) (MODEL 211.2) or the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) (MODEL 211.0) is no longer functional as the result of a defect, then the telecommunications control unit (N112) automatically switches to the emergency call system left backup antenna (A2/54) and emergency call system right backup antenna (A2/55).
