Constant map matching, function - GF82.61-P-2002TJ

IMPORTANT With code (529) HIGH Class Japan the navigation processor is integrated in the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).

Continuous position finding is the calculation of the current vehicle position.

It is activated and performed by the navigation processor even by opening the driver door or via "terminal 15R ON". During the switch-on phase (software is loaded), only basic map matching is available.

After "terminal 15R OFF" all the all the important location finding parameters are stored during a run-on time of t = 30 min.

Three complementary methods are utilized for continuous position finding. This ensures very accurate and reliable position finding.

These methods are:

IMPORTANT It is possible to enter the location manually on the operating and display unit. This may be useful after the vehicle has been transported (e.g. ferry or train) if there was no GPS reception at the start of the journey.
